After having discovered the topographic advantages of the ancient opencast Lalléngerbierg mine, where the industrial exploitation were stopped in 1976, a little group of interested people in Freeride begun to construct in the landscape between Esch-sur-Alzette and Schifflange in 2002.
The estate was the property of Arcelor Mittal and officially closed to public, like the biggest part of the Lalléngerbierg, the unique use of this area was tolerated.

In December 2007, Funbike Luxembourg was created to legalize the use of this area which attracted a lot of freeride adepts with origins of the whole Grande-Région. As the land is situated in the commune Schifflange, an arrangement between Schifflange, Arcelor Mittal, and Funbike Luxembourg was signed, directing the use of this estate.
Around 20 modules were constructed by the members of the club.
The use of the park is, for legal reasons, reserved for the members of Fun bike Luxembourg, because the members are assured against accidents and benefit also from a civil responsibility assurance.

The sport Free ride/Slope style is not an extreme or dangerous sport, but to reduce any accidents and to maximize the security, respecting the rules is considered important.
Disregarding the rules may lead to the temporary or permanent exclusion of the Bike Park Terres Rouges. The members organize regularly, courses for everybody who wants to practice this sport.
